PDA/Smart phones

Im looking into one of these because I need a phone I can keep contact info as well as shipping addresses , calendar and tasks. I doubt I would use the data portion of the phone but would sync it with my pc. I currently have Verizon for a cell provider and have had zero issues with their service.

Anyone out there have a Verizon PDA/Smartphone and can maybe share some do's /dont's with these types of cell phones? And maybe a better place to purchase the phone besides a verizon store? Their prices really suck.
