    Hello..I need help.
Well ,I am desperate !...I bought a new
Ati AIW 9800Pro then I start having problems when doing a fresh boot ,I
start having vertical color lines (where I log into windowsXP),then I
reboot and the lines are gone,I called Asus/ATI/Nvidia(my old card) ATi told
me to return the card which I did and got me a brand new
replacement, installed it and got same errors, now not only that but my
Counter Strike Source game has weird white lines in the game ,making it
impossible to play white lines and snow.
Ati told me might be the Bios ,then I bought an Nvidia card 6600 video card
and now the lines are not apppearing but my Game CSS still has problems .
What can it be ?....PLEASE I am frustrated, neither Asus or Ati have any
solution to my problem ...Thank you for your help ! =)
    P.S. my specs:
    Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard
    WindowsXP
Ati All In Wonder 9800Pro video card
    I Gig of Ram

Oh oh I refomated my drive twice.... THANX =)

How many caes fans do you have?Try running the pc without the side panel on to eliminate heat.

I had the same problem with ATI 9800 AIW cards. My problem was due to a PSU that had a failing 5 v line. I swapped out the bad psu and all is wonderful.

Do you think might be my PSU? Vamike?

And do you think might be heat related Rikky?
Thanx for responding to this Help !

The chances of getting 2 duff cards are remote but it does happen it could be power but usually this just makes the system lock up but anythings possible there are a billion switches on a computer they'v all got to work just to use the desktop this is what id do if I were you;-

1:make sure your comp is upto date download all the latest drivers for your hardware including windows.
    2:Download 3dmark 2003 big file but tests dx9.0 or 2001 about 40mb but only tests dx8.0
    Futuremark.com
2.run the test over and over if you manage to get through it once look out for the problems you mentioned if your computer crashes:-
3.remove the side panel of comp this should eliminate heat as the prob run the tests over again
4:If you made it this far without probs do it the bench all over again make sure the comp gets nice and warm.Run it 4-5 times back to back
If there are no probs i would suspect some kind of software hardware conflict or bug
6:Follow VAMIKE'S advice beg, borrow or steal another psu "well not steal"
I'v left this till last because you could end up frying something else while your in there and see if that helps
    Hope that keeps you busy!

If your system uses a voltage monitoring program: check out the voltages.
Should that not be the case:measure the voltages with a meter. Should that not be the case:try a known-good psu.
The psu was MY problem. With so much that CAN go wrong...yours may be psu or something totally different. Trial and error.
    Good Luck!
