hello... the motherboard on my laptop just died and i am planning to put the hard drive into an external case and connect it to the new computer and access any files I haven't backed up... how do i go about "completely removing" licensed software from the old hard drive so that I can transfer the software to the new computer? both of my computers run Win XP Pro

Just use the key that came in with office. Then you should be good to go!
