Alright, my sound gets this light static in the background when stuff plays. At first i figured it was big speakers. So i hooked the compy up to my reciever and the static was still there.

So i then i hooked up the cases front sound which i hadn't wondering if it just needed it but after i hooked that up. I get a light "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" in the background at all times and the static is there when i listen to anything again.

I tried replacing the drivers but its still there. I'm posting it here because i'm not sure what it is but i think its driver. I have onboard sound. I installed various codecs and drivers from mobo cd. The k-light pack, etc. RealtekAC97 Audio is what the current driver says it is.

    Onboard Audio
    Audio Chipset - Realtek ALC850
    Audio Channels - 8 Channels

Try and mute everything on your computer from the sound control panel, excluding main sound and wave (all the stuff you dont need to play music, etc.). I've had issues like that, especially if the Microphone wasn't muted, and I didn't even have a mic hooked up.

Alrighty, i muted everything like you said. It got rid of the "eeeeeeeee" (big thanks the "eee" was very annoying) but the static thats in the background when stuff plays is still there. For the logitech speakers and the reciever speakers which i know are ok.

Do you know what might be causing that as well?

Small Edit: The static is there even with headphones. <.<

  4. Perhaps it's not programme related, have you tried listening to an audio file and moving your speaker connections on the back of your sound card? It could be as simple as a faulty connection. Hope that's the case, it would be a simple fix. ;)

Actualy, i did try that. I matched it green to green but on some wild thing in case it was wrong. I played some music and tried each one for the hell of it. The others didn't help or do anything because it was the mic slot, etc. Plus, i get it even when i plug it on the front sound slot in this case.

I'd be embrassed had it been that but at the same time happy because it would be fixed. :)
