I have a program called System Security 2009 infecting my computer. I've found all kinds of programs and directions to remove it online, but I can't get any of them to work.

This is because whenever I try to boot into Safe Mode (Regular, Command Prompt and/or networking) I get the following BSoD:

Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is propery configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for harddrive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical Information:
    *** STOP 0x0000007B 0xF7B24524 0xC0000034 0x00000000 0x00000000

Whenever I boot into windows normally, I am unable to run any programs. Whenever I attempt to run anything, an bubble pops up on the task bar telling me that the program cannot be run because there is a problem with verclsid.exe. I have tried running programs off of the hard drive, and off a flash drive. The same behavior happens when I attempt to use the run command to start anything, or if I use CTRL, ALT, and DEL to start the task manager. I've also tried using the control panel, but I cannot get anything off of there to open either.

Any ideas on how to circumvent all of this? Thanks in advance for all of your help

Well if you truly cannot run anything at all in safe boot nor in normal boot, there will not be much we can do for you other than suggest the below:
    • first try the below which will require your Windows boot CD. Use it to go back to a Restore Point from before the problem began.
How to recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP from starting
    • If the above does not help, you could try putting your hard disk into another properly protected PC as a slave drive to do two things
      1. Backup any data that you need
      2. scan your infected slave drive with an antivirus and antispyware scanner in an attempt to remove components of the infection
    • Use another PC to create a CD like this: http://trinityhome.org/Home/index.php?wpid=1&front_id=12 and try booting it and using it to scan, clean, and repair your hard disk.
    • If you still get nowhere with all the above, it is time to reinstall.
