    I'm having problems with my keyboard adding new letters to keys. Whenever I press certain keys on the keyboard many different keys pop up at the same time. Here's an example of this message typed on my keyboard without editing:

    I'm hsaving problwqemsa wqith my kwqeybosarsad sadsasading nwqe lwqettwqersa to kwqeysa. WQhwqenewqvwqer I prwqesasa xzcwqertsain kwqeysa on thwqe kwqeybosardsa msany sadiffwqerwqent kwqeysa pop up sat thewq samwqe timwqe.

    How do I fix this?

    I may have found the problem. It appears a few keys have become "linked" with each other. Here are the linked keys. Would buying a new keyboard fix this or should I reformat the HD?

    q = wq
    w = wq
    a = sa
    s = sa
    x = x
    z = z
    1 = 21
    2 = 21

    While I would'nt think this is a Malware problem it maybe a godo idea to run through the steps below to rule it out?

    Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

    When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis

    ALSO try these other steps.....

    1. Get hold of a spare keyboard ( from another PC if you have one or a friend who could lend you one to test with ), if the errant typing has gone than you need a new keyboard.

    2. Check for the keyboard layout having been changed from your normal language, Control Panel > Regional and language Options > Languages Tab > Details and check your language is default, if not change it to your language. ( unlikely that this setting would have changed on its own )

    3. Longshot but in Device Manager, delete your keyboard driver and reboot as the OS will re-install the basic keyboard drivers again.

    if you have a special keyboard that uses its own drivers then re-install them again.
