hotmail plus via oe7

I've been accessing my Hotmail plus account for ages through Outlook Express with no problems.My trouble started when I did a clean install of XP SP2 Home edition .When I tried reconfiguring my Hotmail plus account with OE7 I was unable to import folders and am getting the following error message

''Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Invalid login.', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC32''

This is weird, I've been able to access Hotmail via OE7 from my wife's laptop which has the same operating system and is also running IE7. I'm using the same login and password and the same broadband connection for both computers so there's obviously some difference in the settings on the two computers but I can't figure out what it might be.Any suggestions anyone?

 

The error code you show is definately got to do with log-in setting.
If your email address is: abc@hotmail.com, your log in account should be "abc", not "abc@hotmail.com". If you did this correct, check if you used caps for your password. If your did that correct (which you probably did), make sure your DISPLAY NAME matches exactly as it was before. This caused problem for me last time.

If all fails, reinstall OE...

I've found this is a known issue with OE7 and Microsoft have released a fix for it
