Just for fun I filled it out. It's a little limited though. I mean it only lets me select a max of 4 HD's. I've got five in here right now. With a sixth about to be added as soon as it arrives in the mail.

So if I add those in manually my power needs are 394 Watts.

In the system itself I have a 350 Watt power supply and a 230 Watt power supply. So I'm sitting while within my range of 580 Watts.

It's a nice tool for a rough idea of your needs. I could have used it back when I was trying to figure out if I needed a second power supply. (to cheap to actually buy one big one).

A small point on this calculator which regards the memory. It suggests that ram of whatever size is valued at about 10w, whereas as we are all aware it should be 8-10w for 128Mb only. So a 512mb stick of ram would draw 32-40w and not 10w.

This calculator is also worth a look, in case you had not seen it since it also give the 3.3 & 5v requirements.
