Live CD/Flash Distro Suitable for iMAC Core 2 Duo

anyone know of a good Linux candidate for a iMAC "aluminum" - core 2 duo [emc-2133 model]
???
don't want to install to HDD at this point - just experimenting.
I found some old threads here and there about modified Ubuntu's [of the past] that worked ok - not much else on the subject

You might want to give this link a try. Linux Mint works well with MAC's
