Hello it’s me again. I think I am infected with malware or worse. I cannot access the internet through internet explorer. It says proxy server not responding. I was trying to download a microsoft office activator toolkit. I have the logs from the Read Me/Run Me instructions.

    Thanks for all you do!

Please download the latest version of Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: Make sure you download the correct version for your PC. Only the correct version will work.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Also, where is the Hitman Pro log please? I need that, too. Thanks.

Here are the requested logs. HitmanPro is too big. I keep getting this message:
HitmanPro file of 709.8KB bytes exceeds the forum’s limit of 375.0 KB for this filetype. Should I run HitmanPro again?

You can zip up the Hitman Pro log (compress it) Or.... divide it up into a few different text files. I do want to see what it has found.

I want you to uninstall Avast before we continue..... it will interfere with the fix below...

    • Save the attached (fixlist.txt) to your desktop.
    • Right click FRST and run it as admin.
    • Click the FIX button.
    • A report should pop up, please attach it here in your next reply.
    • Re run RogueKiller and attach latest log from that also.

Ok, did a restart in safe mode. I removed Avast and ran FRST and RougeKiller in safe mode. I put Avast back on after I got out of safe mode. Here are the logs. Also (fixlist.txt) is on my desktop.

    • OK, so can you boot up into normal mode now?
    • Is your internet back?
    • Rescan with RogueKiller in normal mode if you can please and attach log.
    • Same for Hitman Pro.

Yes, sorry for the confusion. I've always been able to boot in regular mode. I used safe mode yesterday because I had to uninstall Avast and I didn't want to be at risk due to no antivirus. My access to internet explorer is back woo hoo! Also, while scanning rougekiller a box popped up stating that it uses "virus total" for suspicious threats and the box would not go away unless I said yes. Here are the logs.

Excellent, we're making good progress.... :)

I want you to now re run Hitman Pro yet again and have it remove the below, everything else is safe and legit.

Once done... rescan with it again and attach a hopefully clean log.

Excellent. Just want to check something, ensure a reboot of the machine has been made, then rescan with RogueKiller and attach log.

Everything seems to be running normally now. THANK YOU so much!!! This whole debacle started when I was trying to download a Microsoft office toolkit. I have a trial version of office 2013 professional. There are several videos on you tube showing how to convert the office 2013 to full volume with the Microsoft office toolkit. I clicked the wrong link and it was downhill from there. So my question is:
Is there a legit Microsoft office toolkit website that I can download the toolkit without re-infecting my pc?

    You're welcome. :)

You can ask about that in the software forum. ;)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others) and running MGclean.bat did not remove them, you can delete these files now.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
