sse/smid technology

I dont know if anyone can help with this issue but here goes,
I am having issues with the sse (smid) technology. Everytime
I to run any new gaming (example the demo from big huge games/
Rise of Legends) after the download and install I keep getting
the error sse application not installed. From what I read this is
data technology that replaced mmx from older machines...
Any help would be appricated thanks in advance

SPECS: amd athlon /thunderbird
1.1 mhz
fsb 100.0 mhz
bus 200.0 mhz
bios award software ver 6.0 pg
memory sdram 1024 mbytes
motherboard SOYO SY-K7VEM (8363-686A)

ps. i realize this is and older unit Im just hoping there is someway around it for now
