This (Win XP Home SP3) machine has four users, only one (mine) with a password. For quite a while, some time ago, it had a strange logon bug where sometimes, after someone else had logged off, the cursor would not appear in my logon password box. It wasn't just a loss of focus thing, I could tab round all the various controls and the cursor never appeared. Only cure was a reboot.

It wasn't something I ever got a repeatable handle on, and I'm not sure when it went away, but it did. And now it's back. I wonder what security update is responsible for inadvertently re-introducing it?
