   According to my XP search engine, I have some edits in this file referencing some software that I have deleted from my box. How can I edit this file; where would I get the editor? I had no luck looking thru Yahoo. Thanks.

   slightly confused as to which config file your are trying to access as the only one I know in XP ( Config.sys ) has bugger all in it anyway.
   
   
   Maybe its a good old registry cleaning program you need ( Regcleaner, Regsupreme etc ) to remove any dead links or references to old uninstalled programs that LAZY programmers didnt write a full uninstall routine for.
