    Hi Guys

I have a question regarding my sygate firewall. last two times it gave a message of port scan attack, when i take the IP wherefrom scan is done and track it, it shows some IP from China. i am not aware of wherefrom it may be (i am in USA) . can anyone tell me what it may be. is it something to be taken care of ?.

    kindly inform.
    Regards
    Gene

Port scans are just that scans for an open port on an unprotected or imporperly protected system. China, Korea, and former Soviet Republics are a large source of such activity. If your firewall is configured correctly then this type of attack is no threat to your system.

By default Sygate protects you from port scans.
