In Add or Remove Programs I have something taking up 529 MB: Windows Driver Package - Microsoft Corporation (usbvideo) Image (05/25/2007 1.0.3656.0). Clicking for support information just lists Microsoft as publisher and 05/25/2007 1.0.3656.0 as Version. It is present on my Compaq computer but not my Lenovo.

Can anyone tell me what this particular program does and where it usually comes from? I’ve tried searching Microsoft support, Microsoft.com and Google, but it seems only entries related to forums helping with malware come up.

I wonder what would happen if I tried to delete this???? Any idea as to what it corresponds to in Windows Explorer?

    Sorry, I'm clueless.

I make it a rule of thumb NEVER to remove anything until I can determine exactly what it is. Since there isn't much info on it, if I wanted to remove it, I'd run Acronis True Image and create an image. I'd then remove it and rebot. If the computer doesn't boot up or something appears broken, I'd restore the image.
