Why do I have Webex?

XP Pro, SP3, current updates, ZA, A^2, Lenovo T60p Dual CPU - 2.1 ghz, 3 Gb computer memory, 3 cent operator memory

I just found Webex on my laptop. Best I can tell, it is an enterprise conferencing tool. Is it required for anything normal, or is this one of those things that got dumped on my computer without my permission while another app was installing?

 

it's from cisco. do you have anything cisco/linksys related? webcam, wifi adapter?

 

Yeah, got a Cisco wireless router. Webex is for that? Thanks.

 

well, probably not for the router exactly, but if you installed anything linksys/cisco related, it may have also installed webex. like i said not too sure, just a thought.

 

webex is really no big deal. We have a few installs of it at work. Essentially, it is harmless. But, if you feel you need to remove it, just go to add/remove programs and remove it there.

 

It's not that I think it is harmful. It's just that I despise using resources for nothing. I wouldn't even like bloat if I had 100 Gb of memory and 5000 Gb of hard drive. I just don't like dirty diapers piled all around.

 

Yeah, I agree that Webex is harmless, but I also get your "dirty diapers" sentiments, JimLL. I used to be a Webex guy until switching over to RHUB.
