will it make it faster?

im playing counterstrike.. and sometime my ping is alittle to high or my fps is alittle too low

.. so i want to know will 512mb ram and i new video card (300-400$$) improve the speed and performance of the computer on the game? overall?

well i will have to say any video card will be better thin that on-board video. and while your at it fill up on some ram. Ram will do you good

 

will it make your pc faster? yes, will it make CS better? no, even this runs CS now a days.

fps_max 200 Makes max FPS 200

rate 20000 Decreases your ping
cl_rate 20000 Decreases your ping


Also, Turn your monitors refresh rate up.

 

Of course, I reccomend Nvidia cards.

If it takes RD ram, get 256, it should be plenty, if it's DDR get 512 (it should come out to $50 for either one, if they're on sale.

If it's CS 1.6, that game requires nothing

However, if you want to upgrade to HL2, and CSS, get a 6600GT AGP ($150 minimum)

Fast card for the price, and 512 ddr, will give you a HUGE upgrade, it will cost $200 or less minimum

 

ya that principaly why i wana upgrade because im planning on getting half-life2

 

I Would Say You Would Want A PC With 1 Gig Of Ram For Your OS Plus An ATI Radeon 9600 Or Higher With 128 Megs On Board Or More (ATI Radeon Cards To Me Are Faster).

 

But theyre really not; and a 9600 doesnt run hl2 at all good.
