I currently run Windows 2000 on my machine. Today I received an error code and the PC shut down. Now I can start it up but it will only run for about 2-3 minutes before it shuts down. Is this a PC hardware problem or a virus?

You may also want to checkout your power supply, when a power supply goes bad, acts just like that.

If you would like to check out your power supply, you would have to know the form factor of your PC. Most are ATX...this means that the power supply should be providing 12V on the yellow lead and 5V on the red lead within a small area of tolerance.
