I have a coaxial line connected directly into my shaw cable modem which is located in my bedroom, and I want cable tv in it now. If i connect a 2way or a 4way splitter to the coaxial cable and run on output to the shaw modem and one to my tv would that mess up my internet connection?

It could, depends on signal strength already and how good the splitter is, best advice is to check with your isp for sure :).

My TV doesn't seem to be getting the signal from the cable, it's just the fuzzy screen. Does connecting the cable from the modem to the TV actually work?
