I have been having problems with my computer. It has been running extremely slow (pages take forever to load up, even though I have Cable internet). About a week ago, my ebay account was hi-jacked. So my computer has not been a happy place to be lately. I read through all the preliminary things I needed to do first. Hopefully I did everything I was suppose to.

Some of the items that were found on my computer were:

    Windows/cpbrkpie.ocx
    documents and settings>..>cookies>...@statcounter[1].txt

    thanks for the help!

Sorry, after reading, I think I had HJT saved in the wrong place. I think I have it fixed now. Another attachment.

Scan with HijackThis and check the boxes for the following entries:
( Make sure ALL browser windows are closed when you click FIX )

    O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} (cpbrkpie Control) - http://a19.g.akamai.net/7/19/7125/4056/ftp.coupons.com/r3302/cpbrkpie.cab
    O16 - DPF: {A7EA8AD2-287F-11D3-B120-006008C39542} (CBSTIEPrint Class) - http://offers.e-centives.com/cif/download/bin/actxcab.cab
    O16 - DPF: {DECEAAA2-370A-49BB-9362-68C3A58DDC62} (SAIX) - http://static.zangocash.com/cab/Zango/ie/bridge-c8.cab

Again, make sure ALL browser windows are closed when you click FIX.

Now, Please boot into Safe Mode, be sure you have the Viewing of Hidden Files & Folders Enabled per the tutorial. Now, navigate to and DELETE the following if they should remain:

C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine Delete everything in this folder!

    C:\WINDOWS\cpbrkpie.ocx

Next, run CCleaner to clean up cookies and temp files.

Finally, I would like you to flush your System Restore points. Please follow the instructions in the below:

    • Disable and Re-enable System Restore

    • Turn OFF System Restore to flush any bad Restore Points.

    • Then, follow the instructions at the bottom of the linked page to Re-enable the Restore Utility which will create a fresh restore point.
After you complete the above reboot once more and then scan with HijackThis and attach the new log.

Let me know of any problems you may have encountered with the above instructions and also let me know how things are running now.

Wow! thanks for the fast reply. I really appreciate it! :)

I did what you said, and so far, it seems like web pages are loading faster, so far.

When I rebooted, I got a message saying " Norton Anitvirus 2005 does not support the Repair feature, please uninstall and reinstall." What does this mean?

    thanks again!

Your log looks good, are you having any further malware issues?

A typical Norton problem, I have seen this occur when the Norton directory has be renamed. If you havn't renamed anything then I would post this in the Software Forum.
