    Hello,

I have followed the forum procedures regarding installing software to check for malware and I,m ready for help.

Please note; spybot and avg have been installed, but results are nil.

getrun and shownew logs are available.

    The Problem.
2 days ago I downloaded a program called refreasher since then, I have had numurous attack on my machine.I have uninstalled refreasher, however, links have been moved to locations I can not find or files have some sort of encrypton code instead of file names.

example : video clip folder contents have the name changed to this -|____ú.5°3

A bit vague this post sorry, but if someone could guide me through the process of finding and elimating what ever bugs I have, to restore my operating system to a safe enviroment would be great.

Welcome to MajorGeeks.com, please follow our standard cleaning procedures:

[IMG] Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
[IMG] Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

[IMG]After doing ALL of the above and you still have a problem, make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below thread to properly use HijackThis and attach the log:

[IMG] Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis
    • Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..
[IMG]When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
    • CounterSpy Log - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
    • AVG Antispyware Log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy. - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
    • Bitdefender Log - from step 6
    • Panda Scan Log - from step 6
    • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
    • HijackThis Log
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

Update: computor crashed, just before it went down a Dos window opened titled regenv32.

I mircosoft the title and it gave me a solution which has not worked:
they surgest a PE_Weird virus corrupting,

    autoexec.bat
    config.sys
    regenv32.exe

the instructions included rename the 1 st 2 file above to old, the config.sys I was able to change then create a text file of the same name, the autoexec.bat file was listed in the same folder as .bak and not .bat and the message when I try to change the new autoexec file to a text document read autoexec file already in use.
I found a autoexec file located else where tried the procedure again same message autoexec file in use.

Just thought I should update....in the hope of some help.
The hacker is now keylogging me.

    Try to run ComboFix...

    1. Download this file - combofix.exe
    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Ah! You're running WinME!

    Let's run CounterSpy 1.5.

Download, install, update and run a full scan removing all found infections.

Once complete, attach the log from the scan as well as fresh logs from HijackThis, ShowNew & GetRunKeys.
