error when running Spybot S&D

I hope not to keep you folks too busy, but on my Win2000 machine at work I get an error: Z-Demon (Ungultiger Datentyp fur ") when I run Spybot S&D. Do I need to uninstall/reinstall it?

Also, I am a bit surprised that majorgeeks.com would have one of those flashing "you are a winner, click here" ads at the home page.

I have version 1.3 of Spybot

 

ah, yyyy, I didn't get the S&D 1.3.1TX for my machine at work. details, details; my bad

 

I got 1.3.1 TX and now the German error message is gone.

One note for those encounter a "bad checksum" error when trying to update within Spybot S&D: kill the S&D application from Task Manager, restart it, click Update button, and then on the update window, choose a different download mirror from the dropdown. They say that the cause of the "bad checksum" is that the server you tried earlier was overloaded.

 

After reading this thread I uninstalled Spybot 1.3 from my computer and used the link in the sticky READ ME FIRST to supposedly download Spybot 1.3.1TX. The screenshot from that download link clearly shows Spybot 1.3.1TX version. However, when I download it I end up with the old 1.3 version. I did this twice with same result. Also got all the "bad checksum" errors when trying to update.

Can someone tell me if there really is a newer version of Spybot and what I am doing wrong??

1) Install Spybot S&D 1.3
2) Get the updates (from a good mirror, no checksum)
3) Install the Spybot S&D DSO fix
4) Immunize

Thanks for the reply buzz. I redownloaded Spybot 1.3 and updated fine with a different mirror. I guess there is no new version 1.3.1TX. If there is, I sure can't find it! But thanks for your help.

 

Keep in mind that SpyBot Seach & Destroy 1.3.1TX was NOT intended for public release. This version is NOT supported and also has a few flaws in it. Also, note that there will not be an "official release of 1.3.1TX" because they are close to making version 1.4 available to the public since version 1.4 beta 2 is coming along real well, with only a few minor gliches. Just giving you the heads up on this version.

the Spybot DSO fix, after u download it, makes the Spybot version 1.3.1 TX; it is like a plugin. you find the link at http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407; (it is just below the Spybot S&D link there)
