    Hello all.

    First, let me start by saying thank you ahead of time for taking a look. I did my best to read and follow the directions offered, I promise!

    Here's my problem/s: Plenty of freezing. Whether using iTunes or the internet. My PC started acting up about a month ago. Sluggish at times and struggles to boot up from time-to-time. It almost feels like registry issues, but not sure. My laptop is about five years old so perhaps this is expected.

    A couple of the scans revealed no threats, so I did not attach those logs. My UAC is still off and I have not gone passed Step number 4 of the Malware Removal thread posted by 'chaslang'.

    Specs: Dell Inspiron N7010 laptop (circa de 2010) Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 312 GB free of 451 GB

    If more laptop info is needed please let me know. If I missed a step please let me know as well (as I am sure you guys will!)

    Thank you!

    You have a Zero Access infection. Plus the only reference I see to an AV program is this:
    C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software

    Avast is not in your Add/Remove program list so it does not seem to be installed properly.

    Please go ahead and use windows explorer and delete it.

    Now rerun RogueKiller and fix these items:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Registry : 44 ¤¤¤
    [PUM.Proxy] (X64) HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X86) HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X64) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-904424469-127058506-2878477384-1000\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X86) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-904424469-127058506-2878477384-1000\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X64) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X86) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    Now fix these:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Files : 3 ¤¤¤
    [ZeroAccess][Folder] L -- C:\Windows\Installer\{c614d3bf-243a-3fd7-a4fd-36cd3756874b}\L -> Found
    [ZeroAccess][Folder] L -- C:\Users\Feigel\AppData\Local\{c614d3bf-243a-3fd7-a4fd-36cd3756874b}\L -> Found
    [ZeroAccess][Folder] U -- C:\Users\Feigel\AppData\Local\{c614d3bf-243a-3fd7-a4fd-36cd3756874b}\U -> Found
    Now rerun Hitman and have it fix everything it finds.'

    Reboot and rerun RogueKiller and Hitman and attach the new log.

    Tell me what issues you still have, if any.

    You will need to properly install some AV protection when we are finished.

    The post re-boot logs are attached.

    Concerning the AV (Avast). I deleted it during the initial malware removal stages. And yes, I will be sure to BUY a good AV when we are finished.

    Thanks again for helping!

    Rerun RogueKiller and have it fix these items. They should have been removed in our last fix.

    Code:
    [PUM.Proxy] (X64) HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X86) HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X64) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found
    [PUM.Proxy] (X86) HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings | ProxyServer : 10.0.2.104:8080  -> Found

    Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Reboot and rescan with RogueKiller and attach the new log.

    When I go to delete those four items using RK, I receive an error message for the bottom three items during the deletion.
    Error (2) in the status column.

    Wanted to point that out before I moved forward.

    Thanks.

    @ TimW.

    You have to modify the proxy registy patch fix per individual user as stated in the Fighter's Forum. The SID you use in your patch is not correct for the current user. The SID is
    Code:
    Username: FEIGEL-PC\Feigel
      SID: S-1-5-21-904424469-127058506-2878477384-1000

    What was the error message?

    Let's try it again:
    Make sure that you used notepad to create the fix.
    Make sure the file is really named fixme.reg and not fixme.reg.txt
    Make sure that you have no blank lines or any other lines above the Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00line
    Make sure the file contents looks exactly as I posted inside the quote box. The Quote: line is not part of the fix

    Copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ).

    Once done, rerun RogueKiller and attach the new log.

    Looks good.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now go to the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
