    Need help.
I have a Dell, which i had for about a month now. My bro did something screwy to it, and now I can't get into it. I don't know how but he might have deleted files.

When the computer starts up, it show 3 profiles(user names), but I cannot get into any of them. I get the error " userinit.exe - application error. The application failed to initiate properly (0xc0000142)"

How can I get into my profile?
I have files so I do not want to reinstall XP home. I do not have internet access on it yet, either.

Anyone have a solution on what I need to install or how to correct this problem? Help is greatly appreciated!

Have you tried safe mode and clicking on Administrator???? You should be able to modify or create user accounts. Access safe mode by pressing F8 repeatedly upon boot-up. From this menu you can also try 'last known good configuration' and see if that helps.....
