I am also new at building computers and want to build my first. I figure I need to spend a little money, but I don't want to go over this price very much. Can you fellas see if I will have any compatability issues with these components?

Fractal Design Arc Mini Black High Performance PC Case 99.99
FSP Group FSP450-60GHS(85)-R 450W Micro ATX PSU 64.99
    ASUS P*Z77-M LGA 1155 Motherboard 129.99
INTEL Core i5-3570 Ivy Bridge CPU 214.99
    ASUS GT640 Graphics Card 109.99
ASUS 24X DVD Burner Bulk OEM 19.99
WD Caviar Black WD5003AZEX 500GB Hard Drive 89.99
    Corsair XMS3 16GB (4 X 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 RAM 89.99

I got all of the prices from New Egg. I don't play many games, I got into playing World of Tanks, their settings are:

System requirements for the game at maximum settings:

    Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/7
Processor (CPU): 2 Core 3 GHz
    Memory(RAM): 4 GB or more
Video Card: GeForce 9800 with 512 MB of RAM / ATI 4850 with 512 MB RAM, DirectX 9.0c
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible Free hard disk space: 5.9 GB
Internet connection speed: 1024 Kbps or higher (for voice chat)

I already have a 64bit version of Windows 7 Home Professional, and I was thinking of using my TV for the monitor. I can hook to it with VGA or HDMI and it has a game setting.

    Thanks for any advise

The specs on the game you are worried about are actually going back a couple years so I don't see an issue. I have 1 simple rule on building a new computer and I realize it sounds stupid:

Figure out what you can spend, then add a couple hundred bucks.

Best bang for the buck is to look at the latest, greatest hardware then go backwards a couple versions to find the best deal. It's not what you NEED to run today, it's what you need to run next year that you want to worry about. I like what you have assembled here. Even the video card is surprising for the cost although I can't find any reviews on the card. Be careful with video cards and gaming, be sure its a good card. I prefer Nvidia personally.

Thank you for the reply and the encouragement. I did originally want to spend about $600, but I knew I would probably end up about $800. I know I can't afford top of the line components, but I didn't want to go too old because I don't want to have to upgrade for a while.

I know very little about graphics cards, but I do think this one will run the current game with out problems. I had trouble finding information about it also. I picked a combination that uses the PCIex16 3.0 and the Mother board includes USB 3.0

I did some more looking into the graphics card. I found this site: http://www.hwcompare.com/12942/geforce-9800-gt-512mb-vs-geforce-gt-640-ddr3/ which shows the GT 640 as being slightly under what I want. I swapped out the GPU for an Asus GTX 560 at $179.99, I traded the CPU for an i5-3470 at $199.99and dropped to 8GB of Corsair RAM, (2X4GB) for $45.99. This brings me to about $830 for the computer.

Does anyone see and problems with the components working together? Will I have problems and should change out 1 or more component?

    Thanks

After some more research, I think the power supply I had is just at the minimun the system will need. So I moved out of the micro atx case and selected a new psu.

I will be using this computer for web surfing, email, some office work (word, excel), and playing World of Tanks once in a while. I wanted to build one that would do all of this without problems, and so I wouldn't need to upgrade for a few years. I may get into other games, but probably only on-line games, and I am busy enough that I will only be playing a few times a week for a couple hours at most right now.

    What I have now is:

Case: Fractal Design Arc Midi Black High Performance PC Comptuer Case w/ USB 3.0 and 3 x Fractal High Performance 140mm fans (item # N82E16811352007) 109.99
    PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply (item # N82E16817139028) 69.99
Mobo: ASUS P8Z77-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard (item # N82E16813131824) 139.99
    CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 Ivy Bridge 3.2GHz (3.6GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2500 BX80637i53470 (item # N82E16819115234) 199.99
    RAM: CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M2B1600C9 (item # N82E16820233202) 45.99
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD5003AZEX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive (item # N82E16822236345) 89.99
    CD/DVD: ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM (item # N82E16827135204) 18.99
    GPU: ASUS ENGTX560 DC/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card (item # N82E16814121466) 179.99
    Wireless: ASUS PCE-N15 Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g/n PCI Express 300/300Mbps Transfer/Receive Rate 64-bit WEP, 128-bit WEP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, WPS support (item # N82E16833320074) 29.99

Item numbers and prices are from New Egg for a total of $884.91.

I have purchased Windows 7 Home Premium and plan to connect to a 32" LCD TV with the HDMI. I can not think of any other problems I may have with these components, but this will be my first build. Can anyone see a problem I am overlooking?

    Thanks,
    Chucko
