rolleyes I run windows 7. In the Resource Monitor I found Firefox with an address of www.007guard.com. I have researched this on the internet and found much of the info to be vague. A lot of the info said that it could be due to the Hosts file and that the first line should be 127.0.0.1 local host. I checked mine and the first 2 lines are 127.0.0.1 007guard.com and 127.0.0.1 www.007guard.com. I tried to open the hosts file in notepad, but received the error "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program." I have no idea what to do.
Is this 007guard thing a problem? If not I won't worry about it. But how do I associate a program that is a "file" to allow it to open?
Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum.
    Thanks for any help.

I can't open the hosts file in notepad. When I click on "file" in the hosts folder I get the error "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program." I don't know how to associate notepad with a file in order to open it.
I am not sure if 007guard.com is malware that is why I asked the question. From what I read it in various forums, this one included, it could be a problem that the ISP address 127.0.0.1 has 007guard.com next to it in the hosts file. So I wasn't going to go through everything in the Read Me first unless I had to.
    Thank you for your help.

The site has a poor reputation rating, so your host file is blocking it on your computer. Which is a good thing. ;)

This is not a problem!!!!! This indicates that the URL named www.007guard.com is being looped back to your local PC so that it cannot be accessed. This is a standard thing that will happen when you use protection programs like Spybot and many others that can add items to your hosts file for protection.
