Amazing how much this hurts!

Well, Fred has a gift of getting out of my way by going to where I am going to. So when moving a computer last week, he did his thing, I tripped over him, smacked my back on the table, and then landed, ironicly on a computer case. :-D

So I wound up with a bruised rib and a bruised back. It hurts to breathe! But it has been a week tonight, and I am much better. Still hurts, but it is getting much better. A few years ago I had a much bigger trauma on my ribs, and it took at least 6 weeks to get to where I am now after one week. So that is good!

But it still hurts when I breathe. I do my best to post in good cheer here in the Lounge, the Hot Button, or wherever. But if I have been rude in any of the forums, I appologize.

My mood has been a bit off. I enjoy posting random stuff on here, it is a nice community. I am honestly suprised, but very happy the Hot Button area was added.

Thanks for tolerating me. And don't worry you Lib's, I will hold BO responsible to his promises. :-D

Meh, no worries Fred, your ribbing never changed quality.:p:-D Glad to know you're feeling better there, ribs are a darn bad injury along with the back.

Hey Fred I think you have been very cordial in the forum.
I know when you are hurting it's sometimes difficult to be all happy and dancing.

Yuck! Bruising your ribs is painful! Hurts when you pretty much do anything.

Glad to hear you are doing better.

As far as being rude...I don't ever find you rude. You are honest, you state your opinion (right wing radical it may be :p), and you don't get offended. I like that. :)

Darn Fred, you sound almost as clumsy as I am!:-D Still, I'm glad you're healing well. As for your posts, you still sound like the same Old Fred to me, which is a good thing!;) Now, back to the priorities....how's the computer? Or was it just and empty case?:-D

Thanks. So I can go back to fighting socialism without worries! :-D My intent is to address facts and ideas, not to attack individuals. I have been seriously editing my posts before replying, and just wanted to see what you thought. Since Lev has not PM'd me I figured I was ok technically...

Stubby, the 'puter I fell on is an old PII I got long ago. I was looking into setting up a cluster for folding, but the GPU folding started getting so many points it would be ineffective.

    Thanks folks.

Had the wine last night, and will have another glass tonight. Tripped last week on my crazy dog! Need a calender Stubby? :-D Now the time I think I actually broke a rib, yeah, I was tore up! :dood

I am beginning to wonder if my dog is doing this on purpose. Perhaps he disagrees with my political views... I mean he does not work, so he pays no taxes, gets free food, gets free housing and medical care... I may have a socialist for a pet. :cry

Could be, and if so, I appologize in advance. Just meant it as a joke, which normally goes in the Lounge, and I was the 'victem'. I have faith the admins will remove anything un Loungeworthy, and I will go no farrther on that topic in here. ;)

Well, actually I took the aspirin (yeah, I am hard core:-D) around 3pm, so it is mostly the wine now. That and sampling some of Abita's new beers we got. Not too impressed with the Abita stuff.

Thanks for the thoughts max relax. This is a minor injury, but dang it does hurt at times! :cry Having a job where you have to move 38 to 40 pound boxes of wine does not help...

Trust me, the first time I broke/bruised this rib, I did a heck of alot more damage. I was a lot younger then, but I still remember the wake of another boat, the boat moved, I jumped to grab an errant ski, and then the edge of the boat rose up to meet my poor ribcage... Then, if I moved a certain way, I would hear a pop, and the get hit with a wave of pain. For months. That was debilitating.

This one just hurts mainly in the morning, and when I breathe. Doing much better today. I will take that!

Thanks for the kind words Dr. m

But this crazy dog ain't right. He has a covered deck to stay on while I am at work. He lays in the rain. He has a nice warm doghouse on the covered deck for winter weather. He lays out in the rain.

And this crazy dog moves towards where you want to go, not away, it seems to be a 'gift'?

I got Fred as a puppy back in 1994. He is still kicking today, just a little slower. Wow, he will be 15 years old if he makes it to June. That is old for a 60 pound dog with hip displasia. Rock on old man Fred! :-D

Meaning Fred and not you, yet.:p Still sad though no matter how much I joke. A loved one will always be that.

I know you like the fine wine - the scotch was to my embarrassment.

And now it's time for me to quit drinking :-o

Ouch!, Fred. Yeah, rib injuries are always very painful, as you no doubt found out, can't eve breath without pain.

I hear you on the dawg being in the way. No dog here, but the cat has gift for literally getting under my feet at the wrong time. I have kicked toes, and bruised and scratched legs and feet, but otherwise not too bad, as yet. I just don't want a 45lb computer and myself, (which aint small, either) falling on her, (the cat). It would not be a pretty sight.

Usually I know where she is, unless she decides to scoot under my feet at just the wrong moment.

Anyway, hope ya heal quickly, Eric.

5pm - Oh boy! Mom! My favorite!
7pm - Oh Boy! Playing ball! My favorite!
9pm - Oh boy! Sleeping in master's bed! My favorite!

    A Cat's Diary:

    Day 183 of my captivity...

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal.
    The
only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild
satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture.

Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant. Today my attempt to kill my
    captors
by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded -
    must
try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse
these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their
favorite chair - must try this on the bed.

Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in an attempt
    to
make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into
their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little
    cat
I was. Hmmm, not working according to plan. There was some sort of
    gathering
of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event.
However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly I
overheard that my confinement was due to my impact on "allergies". Must
learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage.

I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The
    dog
is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is
    obviously a
half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and
    speaks
with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his
current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.

But I can wait - It is only a matter of time...

A few years back I was in a collision pulling into my driveway. Oddly the only injury I had was cracked ribs caused from my seat belt.
That was worse then giving birth I have to say. After having a baby your up and about within a matter of hours. With the ribs (this is no exaggeration) it took me a good 25-30 min to sit up in bed. Awful!!
You poor guy, don't see how you worked.

It took about 3 whole months to go back to normal and to this day I still dont know how I did it!!

so.. I feel your pain, it will be over soon.;)
