You might try ReCuva. Can't hurt to try.

As long as the drive has not had any new data written to it, and it was a quick-format, it shouldn't be a problem. If any new data has been written to the drive, any data that may have been remaining on the drive will have been over-written and is probably lost forever. However, I'm not sure if any freeware will recover data from a formatted drive, but here's some you can try that are 100% free:

You can also look at the Major Geeks section for Data Recovery and the Drive Utilities section for something I may have overlooked:

. . . and you might even find some in the Back Up section: http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads3.html

If you don't mind buying software, I strongly recommend OnTrack's Easy Recovery Pro. I have used it MANY times to recovery data from all sorts of situations, including formatted drives. As long as the drive hasn't had ANY new data written to it, you should be able to get the data back. You'd install the program on a functioning PC, and hook up the formatted drive as an external, or slave, or secondary drive. Easy Recovery Pro has a free demo version; you run it and it will show you if data can be recovered but doesn't actually recover the data until you purchase the program.
