I want to reinstall windows XP and have used SP1 for a few years now. I don't need SP2. I'm going to sell the computer. Is there a way I can save SP1 on another hard drive then reinstall and install SP1? or should I just let the buyer deal with it?

What do you mean save SP1?
Likely the CD's that came with your system or that you bought from a store is Windows XP Service Pack 1. Is is not?

Do you have CD's? Why don't you want SP2?

Thanks for the links. I bought my computer in 2001. SP1 came out some months later and I didn't save the file. SP2 looks like some trouble plus some stuff I don't need like a firewall; I use Norton. I've had no problems with the internet.

you really should download Service Pack. You actually already had a firewall on your computer with service Pack 1, it just wasn't turned on. In Service Pack 2 it is simply turned on by default but can easily be turned off. Don't forget that Service pack 2 isn't a bunch of extra goodies to install on your comp, it's a whole bunch of security updates that will protect your computer from known vulnerabilities in windows.
