DvD, CD door not opening

Our dvd, c.d. drive door will not open? Do i have to pop off the cover and look at the drive and see if it is dirty?

 

Could just be jammed. You'll see a TINY hole somewhere on the faceplate of the drive. Open up a paperclip, and stick it in the hole. You'll be pushing against a gear, not a release latch. So push it in good. When you get the drawer open a bit, you can grab it, and pull it open with your hand. Then try closing and opening it with the button.
