Resident Shield on AVG
Hi everyone!
I have a question I hope someone can help answer.... I recently downloaded AVG (formerly Ewido anti-spyware) and I am unable to activate the Resident Shield. I have tried checking the box in the task bar, it won't check, I have gone to where it says inactive to activate it, no luck there either???  : I am using the free trial version right now so I am unable to contact AVG due to not having a license # to input on the support form. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, how was it corrected? Any help will be much appreciated.Thank so much!

From what I understand this is a known bug and should be fixed in the next release. I spoke to a technical rep. and was informed if the application was purchased and a valid key was installed it would work with no problems.
Also, be sure you have the latest version, download below. AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5.0.50

Oh I see. I do have the latest version since I just downloaded it. Well, at least if I decide to purchase it after the trial period I guess it'll be okay. Thanks for your help bjgarrick, take care!

Let me throw in my opinion, if you are going to purchase something, let me recommend Spy Sweeper. I have been using this for a few years now and I absolutely love it. It does a great job in the prevention, detection and removal of todays worst infections. It's is IMO the best antispy program available today.
