Question Resident Shield on AVG

Hi everyone!

I have a question I hope someone can help answer....

I recently downloaded AVG (formerly Ewido anti-spyware) and I am unable to activate the Resident Shield. I have tried checking the box in the task bar, it won't check, I have gone to where it says inactive to activate it, no luck there either??? : I am using the free trial version right now so I am unable to contact AVG due to not having a license # to input on the support form. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, how was it corrected? Any help will be much appreciated.

Thank so much!

From what I understand this is a known bug and should be fixed in the next release. I spoke to a technical rep. and was informed if the application was purchased and a valid key was installed it would work with no problems.

Also, be sure you have the latest version, download below.

AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5.0.50

Oh I see. I do have the latest version since I just downloaded it. Well, at least if I decide to purchase it after the trial period I guess it'll be okay. Thanks for your help bjgarrick, take care!

Your Welcome!

Let me throw in my opinion, if you are going to purchase something, let me recommend Spy Sweeper. I have been using this for a few years now and I absolutely love it. It does a great job in the prevention, detection and removal of todays worst infections. It's is IMO the best antispy program available today.
