Hi my Fujitsu 100 Gig pocket drive seems to have just about stopped, when I first bought it I had to plug it into a USB 1 port, it took ages to start up, since then I bought and installed USB 2 x 4 ports, however it never really worked to its full extent always looking for the info with that little torch searching screen appearing, anyway since being at work and downloading some information to it, I've come home and cannot even get it to start, the little blue light sometimes goes out completely and does not come on for a while, I don't think there is anything physically wrong with it, its hardly ever used, there is only about 16 Gigs on it, when I click on it to start in My Computer after about 30 Secs a window appears saying P:\ is not accessible Error performing inpage operation, can anyone help me get it started again I need the information stored on it, if I can move the info to my PC then I could reformat the drive.

Sounds like it may be dead/dying and maybe was a lemon from day one. Visit the Fujitsu web site for a diagnostic/repair tool. It should be under warranty thru Fujitsu if it's less than one year old. They'll replace it. Just an opinion, but I've always found Fujitsu hard drives to be a bit flakey and generally of low quality and short life span.... go with a Seagate next time if possible. They have the best warranty right now (5 years).

Have tried the diagnostic tool however it requires the hard drive to be working in order for it to work, its as though there's not enough power getting to it to move the drive, is there anyway of boosting it? as for the Seagate will certainly consider it, but for the time being I need all of the info off my drive as I need a lot of it for my job, thanks anyway. |
