Rootkit stealing all my bandwidth?

For the past week i haven't been able to download anywhere near my normal speed. I ran a bunch of speed tests and was only getting 700kbps and i have a 5 meg connection. My upload speed seems to be fine.

Just because your speed is slow doesn't necessarily mean you have an infection. If for some reason you're with Mediacom that's normal as I just ditched them for slow speeds.

Have you checked recently for any baddies? Run the below and it will reveal any rootkits you could have.

Please download Blacklight to its own folder...

F-Secure Blacklight

After download is complete, double click to run the program. Click "Accept" to procede. Then click SCAN to begin scanning your system.

Once the scan is complete it will attempt to clean the found infections. There should be a log in the folder that you ran the program from, attach this log to your next post.

I did a scan with F-secure BlackLight, it didn't find anything. Ive also scanned with norton and nod 32. Anytime of the day i try to download anything it stays real slow. Ill attach my log of f-secure black light.

You don't appear to have a rootkit, if you have a 5mb connection and you're only getting 700kbps then I would contact the ISP because it's not the computer.

Try to power cycle the modem and the router if you have one, if that doesn't help then it's the ISP.

I called my ISP. They did a route trace and made me ping some sites. They said its not on their end and that it has to do with the pc. I attached a hijackthis log, maybe u can see if theres something in there that dont belong.

There isn't anything in your log that could cause this. I would post this in the Software or Networking forum, those guys may be able to help as I don't think this is malware related.
