    hi all

My computer is a hp pavition zd7000 notebook.

Ok so when try to Launch my DVD/CD-RW (D drive) from "My Computer" I get this error:

    Disk is not formatted
Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows.

But when I Launch the disk from a program (such as a game) it just does nothing no error.

what I have done to try and fix this problem:
    - restart/shutdown
    - system restore from when the drive worked
    - uninstalled / reinstalled
    - update
    - I have tried all kinds of dvd's and cd's in the drive and it never changes

I have looked at all the forums that could have possibly been the same as this and tried any solutions that I thought could have possibly worked. I could really use any suggestions that anybody has.

    thanks, halfgeek
