networking and dedicated game servers

    hi all i have a home network...(2 pc both xp pro) that runs off of a linksys router I am playing with the idea of building a dedicated game server and haveing my network run through the game server so it could connect to the net basiclly like this


    net).....gameserver.......router...computer......computer

    any info on this subject would help...as in building a good game server and in networking....
