Have had my laptop connecting to my netgear wireless router for months now without any problem and my PC connected via cable.

Bought a wireless card for my PC yesterday but the following is occuring:

Lap has no problems connecting wirelessly to the router and can surf the internet.

PC can connect to an unsecured network in the area and I can surf the internet.

PC seems to connect to my wireless router but I cannot surf the internet.

Only difference I can see is the IP routing set to No on the PC.

Is the router only letter the LAPTOP connect to it and nothing else?

    Any Ideas?

    ping 192.168.1.3 works

    ping 127.0.0.1 works

    From Laptop:

    ping 192.168.1.1 works

ive restored factory settings again and this time set up an unsecured network and..... it works.

Can anyone give any hints to why my PC wont connect to a secured network?

all right people, one at a time, dont all reply at once.

    Anyway, solved the problem.

Reinstalled the network card in my PC. So the initial installation must have got corrupted somehow.

Through my research on the net, many people complain about being able to connect to their router but then not being able to access the internet.

Especially weird was how I could access the internet on unsecured websites, but I guess the encyription part of the Network card was not installed correctly.

Well anyway, home this thread helps other people with a similiar problem in the future.

Forgot to mention that I also Uninstalled the Network card and downloaded the latest drivers from Netgear website.

So either the orginal drivers were crap or initial installation of the Network card in my PC was somehow corrupted.
