What DVD?

I just got ahold of a HP nx9008 laptop yesterday with a bad dvd rom in it. I thought I'd go to the HP support forum and check on the type/model of dvd burner i can use. But I think $468 bucks for a dvd burner is a bit to much and i can't find any reference about what I can use instead of a hp burner. Do any of ya'll know if a run-of-the-mill DVD burner will fit? Or does it have to be a special HP one?

 

Laptops tend to have less interchangeable parts than desktops. Try ebay or similar to find another identical/compatible laptop cheap with a bad screen, keyboard, etc. and strip out it's DVD ROM.
