Networking wont see internet

hi all hope you can help i've just set up a network in my home for just two pcs both are xp home machines and are networked though ethernet cable. so the problem.... well last night it would connect too the net on both machines but it did not see any network places, now it will see the network places but not connect to the net on the secondery machine is it not possible to do both?

Click start run, then in the box type cmd, then click ok. Then type ipconfig /all and post the entire results into a reply here, will help trouble shoot. Also have your tried rebooting your cable modem/router? Thats a basic first step trouble shooting when having issues.
