I want to start this with a disclaimer "I don't care about the security risk" Thanks.
Now I just finished building a new work station/cash register for my little store, I use this system for all the work but the data is stored on my server. I used to have the box that said remember my password when I logged onto my network now I don't, I've been googling all morning trying to figure this out but I can't find a simple fix, I'm not alone in this there are other lazy people out there but all of the responses are about how you shouldn't do it because of security and no real answers. I want to add this password so when I boot this computer in the morning it logs into my server with out being told to. Thanks

You can do it without compromising security if you set aside some space on your server as shared and map this to a drive on the shop pc. Tick 'reconnect at logon'. All you then have to do is make sure the server is available when you power on the pc.
As Foogoo asks a little more info would be helpful as there are other ways as well. Studio T |

Sorry about that, the Pc is running XP, the server is running 2000 Pro. The problem is with the PC, because the one I just replaced had the little check box that said remember password, now this one does not. I have the server drive shared, and all is well on that end. I need my check box back. Also the system I replaced was XP with service pack 2. Not on a Domain either, just a work group.

have you set up the same user name and password on the new xp machine as on the 2k server? If you do this once you have logged into that account in XP you will automatically have access to the 2k machine.
