[ASK] can't connect to the network in redhat using vmware

Hi All

sorry if my question little bit sily

i have vmware n am already installed at my XP home, i have been installed redhat 9 at vmware n everything is ok, but only the networ, i cant connect to the internet, i have been set to the -> Bridgely : Connectly directly to the physical address, but still cant connect

if am setting up the network is always have error like this : "Determining IP Addres for eth0..... failed, no link present. check cable ?

at the XP am directly connet to the internet at my office using DHCP configuration, pliss help me i rili2 wanted using linux with vmware

Ok under linux you need to have vmware tools installed for the network connection to function properly. I have no idea how to do that in RedHat. This thread might help you:

dera goldfish thx for your sugestion, i already done your suggestion but still have prblm, after am running this -> "/usr/bin/vmware-config-tools.pl"

the box automatically aborted that script, because cant make directory at

"/mnt/hgfs"

i have been tried make dir with manual way, but still cant make it, the error messages is "this folder is read only", i tried change the permission but cannot change :cry


plizz help me find the way out ....
