Hello, I have both IE7 and Firefox loaded and IE7 is much slower for some odd reason. Somebody hinted on IE7's add-ons as a probable cause. Would disabling some of these plugins allow it to run faster? And if so, which ones are ok to disable? All i want do is be able to surf the web and occasionaly look at videos.

Unless you have installed some strange 3rd party addon I doubt they matter that much. IE7 might be slower on some sites but should not be in general. May be faster on others.

Remember IE7 check every url with MS because of phishing filter - Firefox use local database by default I think. Switching/opening tabs might feel slower on IE7 because of this - I think MS have made a patch for this, some notice more slow downs than others http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928089

http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/ is about what you can do to speed up IE7. Not sure tweaks will get rid of "much slower" experience. Could be spyware or something?
