Bfme 2 error

i have had this game for ages and played it on my aging comp for quite some time. now i got this brand new shiny laptop and it dont work! what can i do to fix it???

i launch the game and i get the little BFME 2 screen in the middle of the desktop screen and then nothing happens. when i try to launch it again i recive an error message saying that the game os already running. but its not though! i have to go into the task editor and remove the thing from the processes list so that when i try to launch the game i dont get the error message again. ut still nothing happens!
