Default Help me techie gurus, you're my only hope

So I made my way through all the steps of the Malware Removal Guide to the best of my ability (in some cases the instructions didn't seem to sync up precisely with what was in front of me and well confused me for instance when I was in safe mode and running Counter Spy, I couldn't figure out how to "view" to get the log, was I just missing something? In the case of the online scanning, I couldn't get it to work).

*head desks* I must admit to being a bit confused as to WHAT log would be the most useful to you first...

So I'll start with GetRun, ShowNew and the HijackThis logs.

The reason I first suspected I had malware, was that when I'd run a search (and let's face it Google and I are bosom buddies), when I clicked on the links of the results, sometimes, not always, I'd be redirected to somewhere I shouldn't have been, such as ebay, and at least once to an adult site. I can only think my brother deserves a smack upside his head.

Welcome to Major Geeks!

Try running CounterSpy in normal boot mode. Make sure you Quarantine of Delete what it finds. Save a log in normal boot mode and attach it.

Then you need go back to the READ ME and run the other steps you did not run. You did not run the BitDefender and PandaActiveScan online scans in step 6. Attach the requested logs.

Then run this WareOut Removal and attach the requested log from FixWarOut

Question: Did you purchase AdwareAlert ?

As I said in my original post, I could NOT get the online scanners to work: BitDefender & PandaActive. And Counter Spy will work in safe mode, but it crashes out when I try to run it when normally logged in.
