Setting Lap-Top up with Netear Router

I have a netgear DG834 PN router set up ...working on my Desk-top
On my lap-top I have a Sitecom Wireless Lan Adapter Utility and when setting it up , it has a strong signal , then when I connected it through Netgear getting 75% connection a page comes up
Encryption..............64 Bit WEP
Authentication.........Open system
Input Method.......Alphanumeric
Key....................??????

How do I find out the Key confused

usually you turn on wep and make a key yourself. you can log into the router via web browser and look at the GUI. go into the wireless page that you set up the wireless on and it should tell you the key.

Normally the wep key is printed on the bottom of the router.

Note that in Windows the key can be 64 bit or 128 bit (longer number) you choose in network settings.

If not, open intenet explorer and enter the one of the following into the address bar
One of the lines will give you access depending upon whether you are using usb or ethernet. Try each one.

You will be asked for a user name and password

netgear default is admin and admin or password

Once in the router set the password to something else so others can't access your wifi

Thanks Studiot and Kingsteve I put on wep in Netgear generated 4 lots of numbers put Ist into laptop now working
