    I busted out an old dos game of mine, upon running the exe
    i recieve and error:

    "Protected mode driver is not responding to EMS function
    calls. Make sure your EMS driver is not configured with
    the NOEMS option. If it is, replace the option "NOEMS"
    with "RAM"."

    I went to the exe's properties and selected "none" under
    memory/EMS. it did nothing. i saw nothing that said RAM.
    I'm running win 98/win 2k
    thanks

    oh, someone also suggested something about config.sys...

    In Win2k one can right click the DOS exe-file and select "Properties" and select the fan "Memory" and allocate the whatever expanded memory you need.

    In Win98 you need to do what the program says. Edit your config.sys (run sysedit.exe) and check if you have a line which looks like this :

    DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS

    If you do have a line with EMM386.EXE, then copy the line and put a REM (Remark) infront of the old line. And then add RAM to the new line like this :

    REM DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
    DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE RAM

    If you do NOT have a line with EMM386.EXE then add it to the config.sys

    DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE RAM
