My son has a Powerbook G4 that he inadvertantly deleted his system preferences from - can anyone tell me how he can reinstall this?
Alternately - has anyone else had a problem with the lcd display in a laptop like this? His woke from hibernation with a pop and his lcd display had cracked - he can see nothing except for a small slice on the left hand side. This was not following any type of trauma. Apple offers no resolution since it is out of warranty - just curious if others have had a similar experience. Thanks! |

How did he delete his System Preferences? Usually those files can't be deleted without entering a username and password to do it.
About the cracked LCD, thats unfortunate, I have never seen that before on a Powerbook G4. If you did not purchase AppleCare then you are completely out of warranty, and out of luck. |
