Default Strange graphical corruption

The other day I was playing a gameand some sort of error within the game occured which caused the graphics to go hay wire. This isn't the first time this has happened so I simply thought to restart the computer and move on. However, even after restart I have graphical corruption through-out the entire computer. Even the dos like load screens when my computer starts up are mis colored and distorted. When windows is finally loaded fully there are red and green bars up and down my screen and running the mouse pointer through them causes system lag. I've tried reinstalling the drivers for my graphics card as well as switching display options and lowering hardware accel all the way to nothing and it has no effect at all. I'm not even sure where to go next with this because it is so strange. I've attached DXDIAG as well as a screen shot of the problem I'm having. Further when I try to play any game the graphics are insanly destroyed.beyond repair, I can't even tell what I'm playing. If anyone has any ideas as to what may be wrong with my computer, please I'd love to know I don't have reinstall disks for my comp any more so I havn't tried that just yet.

After doing a bit more fussing around I've discovered that when my graphics card direct 3d is disabled there is no problem so I'm going to repost this in hardware ;P
