    Hey!
So I’ve had this media centre laptop for about 7 months now, it’s a hp pavilion dv2000. Because its media centre I should be able to watch/record TV according to Microsoft.
I set about finding an Ariel. I looked on eBay for a suitable means to do so. Bought a “usb dongle” for £20 and that was complete useless. I’ve searched Microsoft’s website countless times but still no luck.
My question is, what do I actually need to get my laptop to play TV?
    Thanks, Josh.

If its a media center laptop there should be a plug where you can connect the cable from your cable/satellite company to your comp. You shouldn't have to buy more stuff. Then you just run the hopefully included software and set up your settings. I have a Media Center desktop from HP too and it can record and watch tv fine.
