I have a message that states my XP is not up to date and to install the Microsoft windoww XP SP2... Should I install this?

Service Pack 2 has some pretty crucial security fixes, so yes, I would recommend installing this. However, to reduce the possibility that something breaks doing so, you should update any software and drivers you can, as well.

If possible, I think you should do a full backup as a safeguard, before you start as it is a big (quantity) upgrade. Bazza

YES!!!!! Service Pack 1 is grossly out of date. SP2 offers many patches and fixes for security, performance, little bugs, and the like. Install SP2 PRONTO!

SP2 is grossly out of date, too. A hell of a lot of MS updates since then, also.

Maybe check out the first 2 MG links at

Could be quicker in the long run, maybe? Bazza

    ;) SP2 + AutoPatcherXP? Might be faster? I know there's about 80 updates at windowsupdate.com for a clean SP2 install....
