Nod32 & Hotmail access

Hi all

Just installed Nod32 having previously used AVG and find that I cannot access my hotmail account the page just hangs, sometimes a window appears saying access is denied, so I restored to an earlier date and tried again still cannot access my hotmail email account, in fact when I first got back on to the internet after formatting my hard drive and installing Nod32 I could not even get into some of the Major Geeks pages, one such page was for downloading AVG, can anyone tell me what I need to tweak in Nod32 to sort this problem out, I tried a couple of things myself and just made matters far worse, even at times the internet hangs before changing pages is this normal when using Nod32?
